A monsplasty is a surgery to remove extra skin and fat from the mons pubis. Mons pubis constitutes the mound of tissue that lies in front of the pubic bones, usually covered in pubic hair. The monsplasty is a cosmetic procedure. This procedure lifts, tightens, and reshapes your mons pubis to improve its appearance. Additionally, it may improve function and comfort. Mons Lift or Monsplasty Procedure The primary purpose of Monsplasty is to lift and tighten the area of the Mons pubis. Local anaesthesia numbs the surgery area and makes you comfortable and pain-free during the procedure. Usually, however, it is done under general anaesthesia as part of a combination procedure. The pubic area can droop following childbirth, weight loss, or as a result of aging because of weak tissues in the pelvic area. There can be incisions made where there is excess deposition above the pubic area to treat this drooping.
Three steps are involved in the process:
- The first step in removing excess skin
- Secondly, the skin around the pubic area is tightened
- The last step is to close the stitches with stitches.
There are a variety of procedures that may be combined with this procedure, including mini abdominoplasty and full abdominoplasty, body contouring, and vaginal rejuvenation.
