In clitoral hood correction, excess tissue is removed from the folds of skin that cover and protect clitoris. The folds of skin around clitoral region are called the clitoral hood. Clitoral Hood Correction Procedure In most cases, clitoral hood reductions are performed under local anaesthesia with or without oral sedation as part of a labiaplasty. Depending on the individual’s anatomy, excess tissue is marked. The extent and shape of folds are highly variable. There are some patients who undergo an excision as a “Y” extension of labiaplasty. An absorbable suture is typically used for closure.
